While meandering downtown, I walked in to M&A's and was promptly seen. I was offered coffee and great conversation. Mas did an excellent job 'reading' my hair and reproducing and refreshing my current style. He was thorough, knowledgeable and skilled.
The haircut included and wash and was very affordable.
The salon is located inside the public library building. It was quiet and clean.
I would highly recommend this salon and intend to return when I visit the city again in the future.

I had a fantastic experience with Azy at M&A Salon last week! She was professional, friendly, and took the time to understand exactly the look I wanted for my balayage. She paid close attention to every detail, worked with great care, and made sure everything was perfect before I left. The final result exceeded my expectations. Great experience. It wasn’t just a haircut. He took the time to analyze my hair and face shape and explained what styles would suit me best. You can tell he’s very knowledgeable and genuinely cares about helping clients look their best. The cut turned out great, and I left with a much better understanding of what works for me. I’m very happy with the haircut by Mas. When I talked to him about what I wanted, he knew immediately which hairstyle fits my face shape and better serves my hair. I just knew I found the right hairstylist after my previous hairstylist moved to Langley. After I washed my hair, it’s very easy for me to manage. Highly recommended.

I was due for a hair cut and was considering cutting my own hair before our trip since my hair dresser was on vacation. My husband was horrified when I said he would be assisting me, and then we walked by Mas’ salon at the downtown VPL. I was skeptical about just walking in but Mas made me feel confident that I made the right decision. I was immediately impressed with his scissor skills and he did exactly what I wanted. He was very polite and professional. When he was done I was very happy with my hair and also how reasonable his prices are. I would highly recommend Mas and M&A’S Hair Salon.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I brought my 4-year-old in for a haircut, and this was such a great experience. My child is not easy when it comes to haircuts, so I was honestly expecting a struggle. But the stylist handled everything so calmly and professionally that my child actually sat still and waited patiently the whole time, which was a huge surprise!
The haircut turned out perfect and exactly what I wanted. I’m very impressed and grateful for such a smooth experience. Highly recommend!

I wear my hair long and I just needed to have shaping along with my beard shaping. Mas followed my instructions perfectly and I was very pleased with the results. I was also pleased with the fair pricing for the services. Thanks Mas.

I usually don’t leave reviews, as I’ve often been disappointed by most barber shops in the West End. But Mas is different — a true professional who really knows how to cut men’s hair. Since the beginning of 2025, I’ve been coming back to him regularly, and he never disappoints. He’s a gentleman with great skills, expertise, and offers a very reasonable price. Strongly recommended 👍
